Real or Slop ("RealOrSlop", "we", "us", "our") provides the RealOrSlop website and the RealOrSlop browser extension (together, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1) What we collect

A. Information processed by the RealOrSlop browser extension

• YouTube page information (website content): the extension reads YouTube pages to identify the creator/channel (for example, channel URL and channel name) so it can display a RealOrSlop label.
• Votes and submissions (user activity): if you click to vote Human or AI, or click to add a creator, the extension sends that request to RealOrSlop.
• Authentication / CSRF protection (authentication information): when you are signed into RealOrSlop, the extension may read RealOrSlop cookies (e.g., a CSRF token cookie) to securely submit actions you initiate. The extension does not read cookies from unrelated domains.
• Local extension storage: the extension stores a small cache of creator rating results (Human/AI/Unknown), vote totals/score (if provided), timestamps, and optional settings in Chrome storage to improve speed and reduce repeated API requests.

B. Information received by our servers

• Server log data: like most websites, we may receive IP address, user-agent, timestamps, and request metadata when your browser or extension calls our API.
• Creator entries and votes: we store creator/channel URLs that users submit and record votes to produce community ratings.

2) How we use information

• Display creator labels (Human / AI / Unknown) on YouTube and on the RealOrSlop website.
• Process votes and creator submissions you choose to send.
• Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse (rate limiting and security checks).
• Operate, maintain, and improve performance and reliability of the Services.

3) What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use extension data for advertising purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose.
• We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories like health or payment information via the extension.

4) Sharing

We may share information only as needed to operate the Services (for example, with hosting or security providers), to comply with law, or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell extension data to third-party advertisers.

5) Retention

• Extension cache: stored locally on your device; removing the extension clears it.
• Server logs: retained for a limited period for security and operations, then rotated/deleted.
• Votes/creator records: retained to maintain community ratings, unless removed for policy or security reasons.

6) Your choices

• Uninstall the extension to stop extension processing.
• Clear site data / extension storage to remove cached rating information.
• You can contact us with questions or requests.

7) Children’s privacy

The Services are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top when changes are made.
